Part of a good irrigation design is to look at the water source and consider how this resource can be recycled and reused as opposed to taking it from a municipal supply. Harvested grey water should be the first choice as this is a readily available and continuous supply. Treated sewage is also a very favourable supply and should be considered when demand is greater than available harvested grey water. Only as a last resort should a potable supply be used.
