Irrigation System Design, Specification & Plans

The dictionary describes irrigation as the artificial application of water to the land or soil. It is used to assist in the growing and maintenance of landscapes during periods of inadequate rainfall. To me irrigation is more than that. It is about understanding the water cycle and the plant – soil – water relationship. It is about designing a system that not only uses water sustainably but takes into consideration:

The elements that effect the micro-climate
Needs of specific plants and applying the right amount of water at the right time with the right amount of nutrient
The physical structure of the soil, how much water will be stored and how much will be available for the plants
That each landscape has its own unique factors that will influence and effect how the plants survive and thrive.

Good irrigation design is not about one product fits all. It is about finding the right product for that application with the intent to use as little water as possible. We are engineers who understand where the balance point is and our core value is sustainable design.
